At Jacksonwald, we believe that every child deserves an environment where he or she can learn and feel safe as a valued part of our school community. The purpose of our STAR program is to encourage positive behavior and academic participation by using a color-coded chart that helps students visually associate their outcome of school citizenship.

Each day, students will start on green; students can be moved up and down the chart throughout the day based upon their choices. They can also earn "STAR Bucks" by following the theme of the month, which they can spend in a variety of ways. Every month, we recognize students who earn green or better at least 80% of the month with a special activity that they participate in along with their STAR classmates, as well as a monthly Positive Awards Assembly where we recognize students for their achievements in math, reading, citizenship and being a STAR student.
