Attendance Emails:

Email excuses can be sent from a parent's email address on file in their child's Skyward account. We ask that you do not send an email when your child is tardy or when you need to pick your child up early from school.

Lorane Attendance

Educational Trip Request:

To request an approved absence for a trip, please complete the form below and submit it to your child's homeroom teacher or main office at least five days prior to the first day of the trip. Your request will be approved based upon the educational nature of the trip, your child's attendance record and teacher recommendations. No more than five days per school year can be requested without seeking approval from the Superintendent. Students are required to make up class work, assignments and tests and may be asked to provide a one-page written summary of what they learned during their trip.

Questions?

Should you have questions, please review the ETSD Attendance Policy by clicking on the button below or call your school's attendance secretary for further information.

Attendance Policy

When your child has to miss school, we ask that you take the following steps:

Please use the absence email for Lorane to notify us that your child will not be attending school. If you cannot email, please call your child's attendance line prior to 8:30AM to report him or her as absent.

  • Lorane: 610-582-8608, press 2

If you called the attendance line, please follow up by submitting a written or emailed excuse within three school days following your child's last day of absence. Your excuse should include:

  • Your child's name
  • Your name
  • Date(s) of absence
  • Reason for absence
  • Your signature (if a written excuse is sent)

Compulsory attendance laws require school-aged children to attend school every day that school is in session. Besides illness, upon written request from a parent or guardian, students may be excused from school for the following reasons:

  • Recovery or illness from an accident
  • Attending a health care or therapy appointment
  • Family emergency
  • Quarantine
  • Required court appearance
  • Death in the family
  • Participation in a non-school-sponsored educational trip
  • Observance of a religious holiday
  • Post-secondary or college visits (with prior approval)
  • Other urgent and reasonable reasons

If your child will be absent consecutively for three or more days, a physician's note will be required when your student returns to school.
