The following provides an overview of the K-6 curriculum at a glance. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or principal for more information or with questions about the curriculum.
English & Language Arts (ELA)
Provides opportunities for students to practice literacy skills independently, in small groups, and a whole class setting. We use the Fountas & Pinnell literacy curriculum for our students in K-6 grades.
Mathematics
Provides opportunities to do mathematics and practice the discipline. Investigations Math is our K-5 curriculum and College Preparatory Math (CPM) is our 6th grade curriculum. Our math curriculum integrates core mathematical practices that focus on reasoning, communication and making sense of math patterns and sequence.
Social Studies and Science
The social studies/science curriculum is designed to build background knowledge (schema) to develop in-depth class discussions, curiosity and inspire inquiry-based learning.
Specials (Art, Music, Library & Physical Education)
Specials provide an opportunity for students to think creatively, work collaboratively and explore new ways of learning in library, art, music and physical education.
