Just one point away from first place, Reiffton's Reading Olympics team, the GOATs, earned an impressive 2nd place finish in this year's county-wide competition! Held last week at Wilson West, Exeter competed against 26 other teams from 10 Berks County school districts in a head-to-head competition where students are asked questions about 25 books on an assigned reading list. Working collaboratively, Exeter finished this year’s competition with an outstanding 72 points, placing them just one point away from Twin Valley's first-place finish of 73 points.
Reiffton's advisor to the after-school club, Mrs. Sally Lamm, said how exceptionally proud she was of her team, who are all 6th graders and compete against students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. "They really stay focused and calm and worked together to give the most detailed answers. I'm very proud of them!"
Members of this year's Reading Olympics team include: Rachel Bright, Summer Glennon, Nadia Paduret, Nicole Okpokwu, Ashlyn Green Lewis, Hannah McDevitt, Lily Stavinga, Daniela Luna, Fi Williams, Brayden McCarthy, Gerry Mazieka, Isabella Peralta, Phoebe Wright, Rylan Seiler, Evelyn Shiffer and Emily Ridge.
Congratulations, Exeter!
