NOTICE TO THE CITIZENS OF EXETER TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT Exeter Twp School District announces the sale of a 5.455 parcel of land located at East 40th Street, Reading, PA 19606, by sealed bid. The minimum bid will start at $50,000.00. Sealed bids must be hand delivered by 12:00 p.m. on July 14, 2023 addressed to Brian Feick, Business Administrator, at 200 Elm Street, Reading, PA 19606. Legal Description: ALL THAT CERTAIN piece, parcel or tract of land situate in the Township of Exeter, County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania, bounded on the northwest by property now or late belonging to Dominic Maurer, on the northeast by other property now or late belonging to Joseph H. Herbein and Catharine L. Herbein, his wife, and property belonging now or late to the Reading Country Club, on the southeast by property now or late belonging to the Reading Country Club, and on the southwest by residue property now or late belonging to Charles H. Russell and Marguerite R. Russell, his wife, and being more fully bounded and described in accordance with a survey made by Walter E. Spotts and Associates, Registered Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, in October 1952, as follows, to wit:
BEGINNING at a corner marked by an iron pin in line of other property now or late belonging to Joseph H. Herbein and Catharine L. Herbein, his wife, said corner also being a corner of property now or late belonging to Dominic Maurer, and also being the most northerly corner of the herein described property; thence along the aforesaid other property now or late belonging to Joseph H. Herbein and Catharine L. Herbein, his wife, and along property now or late belonging to the Reading Country Club, South forty-two degrees twenty-seven minutes East a distance of eight hundred eighty-one feet one and one-half inches to a corner marked by an iron pin; thence continuing along the aforesaid property now or late belonging to the Reading Country Club, South forty-seven degrees twelve minutes West a distance of two hundred sixty-eight feet eight and one-quarter inches to a corner marked by an iron pin; thence along property now or late belonging to Charles H. Russell and Marguerite L. Russell, his wife, North forty-two degrees twenty-seven minutes West a distance of eight hundred eighty-seven feet six and one-half inches to a corner marked by an iron pin in line of the aforesaid property now or late belonging to Dominic Maurer; thence along same, North forty-eight degrees thirty-four minutes East a distance of two hundred sixty-eight feet eight and three quarter inches to the place of beginning.
BEING the SAME PREMISES WHICH Ronald Herbein and Sharon Franckowiak, successor Trustees of the Joseph H. Herbein Trust, granted and conveyed unto Exeter Township School District, by deed dated April 10, 1996.
