Exeter Athletic Director Tom Legath inducted into Manheim Township’s Athletic Hall of Fame

Exeter Township Athletic Director Tom Legath was honored by Manheim Township School District earlier this month as he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. A 1996 graduate of Manheim Township, Mr. Legath earned 7 varsity letters as a member of the soccer, basketball and baseball teams. In 1994 and 1995, he won Section 1 titles as a member of the soccer team. In 1996, Mr. Legath was a member of both the soccer and basketball all-star teams, as well as the PA Mid-State All-Star basketball team. He also finished that season as Manheim Township’s all-time leading scorer in basketball with 987 points and all-time leader in 3-point field goals.
Upon graduation, Mr. Legath earned an athletic scholarship to Kutztown University, where he was a 4-year member of the basketball team and served as captain in his senior season. He was the Athletic Director at Daniel Boone from 2007-2011, and since 2011, serves as the Athletic Director for the district. Congratulations Tom!
Exeter junior Donovan Frymoyer receives opportunity to shadow PA State Senator Judy Schwank

A self-proclaimed political junkie who hopes to help people one day, junior Donovan Frymoyer received a rare opportunity to spend the day shadowing PA State Senator Judy Schwank earlier this month. During an all-encompassing day, Donovan spent time with Senator Schwank's communications director and chief of staff, toured the PA Capitol and attended a press conference before being introduced to the PA Senate in their chambers. Hoping to one day be president of the United States, Donovan would like to attend college at American University to study political science. Principal Tom Campbell was thrilled with Donovan taking his own initiative to contact the Senator's office and ask for the chance to shadow her. "We're placing a new emphasis on our internship program at the high school, and Donovan's experience is the type of opportunity we're looking to provide on a daily basis for high school students who are interested in learning more about a profession before graduation." Local business leaders who are looking for a student intern throughout the school year -- or students who are looking to intern at a local business throughout the school year -- can contact Mr. Mark Ricketts to learn more about Exeter's internship program by email at maricketts@nullexetersd.org or by phone at 610-816-2471.
