ParentSquare (Computer Access)

How do I access my ParentSquare account?

Once you have downloaded the app, please enter the email account or your mobile number that you have on file in your Skyward account. Once you've been successfully connected, your children and news, messages and information related to them will be pre-populated, allowing you to start immediately receiving and sending messages from within the app.

If you are accessing ParentSquare via a computer for the first time, please sign in under the "Sign Up" box (on the right) by entering the email account or your mobile number that you have on file in your Skyward account.

If the system does not recognize you, please follow the directions to request access, and we'll get you "squared" away as quickly as possible during school hours.

Please see our FAQs below to help you troubleshoot any problems and customize your ParentSquare settings to your preferences.

ParentSquare is our district's all-in-one communications hub. It sends emails, texts and phone calls to parents at the frequency and in the language you want while storing everything that's been sent to you in a convenient and easy-to-use app (or website, if you prefer).

Inside the app, you'll find messages from teachers, reminders from your principal and news from the district, which you can respond to if you need more information. Plus, you'll find tons of other features that allow you to stay connected and easily do more than ever before, including:

  • Online forms and permission slips
  • District-wide events, RSVPs and reminders
  • Conference, volunteer and event registrations
  • Customized groups for athletic teams, extracurricular activities and more!

How do I access my ParentSquare account?

Once you have downloaded the app, please enter the email account or your mobile number that you have on file in your Skyward account. Once you've been successfully connected and confirmed your account, your children and news, messages and information related to them will be pre-populated, allowing you to start immediately receiving and sending messages from within the app.

If you are accessing ParentSquare via a computer for the first time, please sign in under the "Sign Up" box (on the right) by entering the email account or your mobile number that you have on file in your Skyward account and then confirm your account.

If the system does not recognize you, please follow the directions to request access, and we'll get you "squared" away as quickly as possible during school hours.

Please see our FAQs below to help you troubleshoot any problems and customize your ParentSquare settings to your preferences.

When will I get messages?

All users are initially set to receive a daily digest email, text and/or app notification with updates sent to you at 6PM each day. However, if a message needs to be delivered to you earlier, we have the ability to override your preferred setting and send it to you sooner. You will ALWAYS receive emergency communication (school closures, early dismissals, delays, etc.) immediately.

To view and set your notifications:

  • On the app, sign in and tap on the three stacked lines in the upper left corner, then click on ACCOUNT and then click on NOTIFICATIONS. You can toggle your settings between INSTANT (all communication is sent to you as it's created) and DIGEST (you'll receive a compiled message at 6PM daily). Please note that you can change your settings individually per building if you have kids in different schools.
  • On the web, sign in and click on the down arrow next to your name in the black bar. Click on MY ACCOUNT from the drop down and then click on the NOTIFICATIONS SETTING along the right side of the page. You can toggle your settings between INSTANT (all communication is sent to you as it's created) and DIGEST (you'll receive a compiled message at 6PM daily). Please note that you can change your settings individually per building if you have kids in different schools.

I entered my email address or phone number. Why doesn't ParentSquare recognize me?

ParentSquare will automatically connect you to your school and your children when you enter the same information that you used at the beginning of the year in your Skyward account. If you are unsure of that email address or phone number, please log into the Skyward app, click the hamburger icon (the three stacked lines) on the upper right corner of your screen, and then click on the person icon and select "Account Information." ParentSquare will recognize the email account and cell number you have on file in your Skyward account to allow you instantaneous access. If you still have problems, please follow the directions to request access, and we'll get you "squared" away as quickly as possible during school/summer hours, or you can email us HERE if you need more help.

Do I have to register my account?

It is strongly recommended for two reasons:

  1. You will be able to make sure we are contacting you the way you want and the phone and email numbers you intend for us to use.
  2. You will have limited functionality of many of ParentSquare's features, such as not being able to complete forms and permission slips.

You have our word: Your information is not sold or shared or used for any other purpose other than school communication. Please take a moment to register so that we can be sure to reach you.

Do I have to use the app?

Parents in the district who share their phone and email addresses with us will still receive messages even if they don't download the app. However, parents will certainly enjoy the convenience of the app and how it centralizes all communication into one place and gives users access to other great features such as a school calendar, forms, permission slips, RSVPs and more!

Even if you don't download the app, if you need to reply to a message that is sent to you through ParentSquare, you will be sent to the ParentSquare website or app (if downloaded) so that your child's teacher or the school staff member can see your reply.

Can I message my child's teacher through ParentSquare?

Yes! On the app, please click the "+" sign to see your child's teacher in the quick-select recipients box at the top of the page. Or, you can type the first letters of your teacher's name in the recipient box, and the teacher's name should auto-populate.

To create a message on a computer, please follow the same instructions, except click on "Messages" in the sidebar instead of the "+" sign.

I'm missing a child in my ParentSquare account. Help!

Please contact us to help you. We'll confirm some information with you to make sure that all of your children show up in your ParentSquare account the next school day.

Can I receive messages in another language?

Yes! To change your language:

  • On the app, sign in and tap on the three stacked lines in the upper left corner, then click on ACCOUNT and then click on PREFERENCES. Tap on the LANGUAGES setting to select the language you'd prefer to receive messages in.
  • On the web, sign in and click on the down arrow next to your name in the black bar. Click on MY ACCOUNT from the drop down and then click on the LANGUAGE SETTING along the right side of the page.

You will now receive and be able to send messages in your preferred language. (Don't worry--your teacher will receive your response in English.)

If the system overrides your preferences once you have set them, please contact us as your language preferences may be set to English in Skyward, which may require us to manually update them.

Can I subscribe to the calendar?

Yes! On the app, tap the hamburger icon (three stacked lines) and then click on “Account” and then  “Preferences” and then select “Automatically add events to Calendar.” You can toggle the "Notifications Settings" to decide if you'd like to receive alerts or not for school events.

Alternatively, you can also download or print the calendar if you prefer. Simply click on those buttons at the top of the screen.

I forgot my password to ParentSquare. Help!

No problem! Please click on "Forgot Password?" on the sign-in screen and a link to reset your password will be sent to you.

How can I change my email or phone number?

Please contact us so that we can make the appropriate changes in Skyward, which integrates with ParentSquare. Please allow 1-2 school days for your changes to go into effect.

Can my child have a ParentSquare account?

Yes! ParentSquare is called StudentSquare for students, and is available as an app or on a computer for students in grades 7-12. Students will use their school-issued myexeter.org email addresses to log in.
