PENNSYLVANIA GIFTED EDUCATION

Students who have exceptional academic abilities as demonstrated through intelligence assessments or by meeting a designated set of criteria as determined by our multi-disciplinary team under Chapter 16 of the PA Code are provided with a program of specially-designed instruction to meet their outstanding intellectual and creative abilities. Once a student has been identified as gifted, a gifted educational plan (GIEP) is developed for the student and will be overseen by a gifted teacher.

If your child's teacher suspects he or she is gifted, you will be notified of the procedures for screening and evaluation for gifted services. If you suspect your child is gifted, you may contact your child's principal to request an evaluation.
